We are committed to…
Biblical Community: The Church is a called out, called together community of forgiven saints who embody the gospel of Jesus Christ—believers living, loving, learning, and lifting the name of Christ in mutual submission.
Spiritual Transformation: Faith in Jesus Christ is dynamic, generative, and transformative. Christians are learners who grow through change. Learning is a spiritual discovery process growing in and out of a shared commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and mutual submission under God’s Word, His Holy Spirit, and His people.
Re-presenting Christ: making Christ the focus of all we do. Hearing, discerning and pointing to Christ and then getting out of the way.
Servanthood: embracing the cross, serving with humility, considering the needs of others before our own.
Interdependent Teamwork: working as a collaborative team using diverse, interdependent gifts. Mutual submission and accountability in team ministry is the biblical ideal for leadership.
Authentic Communication: speaking the truth in love, describing what is possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Core Beliefs
We affirm that…
- The Holy Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God. (Psa 12:6; 2 Tim 3:15,16; 2 Pet 1: 20, 21)
- There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut 4:35;6:4; Mt 28:19; 2 Cor 13:14)
- Jesus Christ is God’s Son, the Messiah, who was virgin born, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, was crucified, buried, and rose from the grave on the third day, ascended to the right hand of God the Father, and will return in power and glory. (Philp 2: 1-12; Mt 1:23)
- The Holy Spirit is the active, empowering presence of God who convicts the world of sin and enables the Christian to live and grow in godliness. (1Cor 12; Jhn 14: 15-18; 16:7-10, 13; Acts 1:8)
- All men and women are lost and sinful. Salvation and sanctification come by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone by the regeneration of the Holy Spirit. (Lev. 17:11; Rom 3:25; Heb 2:17; 9:22)
- Believers are called to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love one another in word and action. (Deut 6:1-9; Jhn 13: 34,35; 1John 3:10-23 )
- The Church is God’s agent for reconciliation. The Church is the Body and Bride of Christ—the social context of a new spiritual reality. (Mat 28:19,20; Acts 1:8,9; 14:27; Eph1: 22-23)
